Autumn break at 'La Grange de Chatelus'
I can't believe it's taken us this long to start blogging about 'La Grange de Chatelus'. (Personally, I've always been a bit slow on the uptake.) There is just so much that we love about 'La Grange' that we could be in danger of overloading you. So, we've decided to try and give you bite size pieces that are easily digestible. It gives us the chance to share with you some pictures of the barn as the seasons change and the beautiful surroundings that frame it in the hidden countryside of France.
We spent a wonderful week at the barn during the October half-term with our NCT friends, catching up on time that we'd lost in the madness of life since having the children. While the children ran around, rode bikes up and down the hamlet and spent hour upon hour exploring the land and at the pool table, we adults found some peace either sipping tea in the kitchen away from the children's excitement, or lounging outside on the sun loungers enjoying the view across the valley to the 18th Century church. We even had a few days of amazing weather that meant that we could use the pool again before the winter shutdown. The highlight was sipping beer, feet dangling in the pool, while soaking up the last of this year's sunshine.
All in all, a wonderful week...and as usual we didn't want to leave!
